ORGANIZERS

Preparing this Congress required the participation of several key players. The Andorra 2014 Organizing Committee, the World Road Association (PIARC) General Secretariat and Technical Committees 2.4 "Winter Service", 3.3 "Road Tunnels Operation", and 4.3 "Road Bridges" collaborated with several stakeholders to make this Congress a scientific gathering that will benefit the entire international road community interested in winter service.

Organizing Committee President, Mr. Jordi Alcobé, Minister of Economy and Territorial Planning of the Principality of Andorra, was able to count on the support of several branches within his department and especially the Andorra 2014 Office, the standing secretariat for this Congress, in order to ensure that the work was completed on time.

The Office received substantial help from the following organizations in organizing this important Congress: The Andorran Government, with the involvement of several of its departments (Finance, Tourism, Protocol, IT, Interior, External Affairs) The seven Parishes: - Andorra la Vella, as the base for the Congress - Canillo - Encamp - Ordino - La Massana - Sant Julià de Lòria - Escaldes-Engordany The Andorra Tourist Board Andorra's Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services (CCIS) Ski Andorra Andorra's Automobile Club (ACA)

The content of the Congress was placed under the responsibility of the Executive Committee of the World Road Association (PIARC). The Congress Scientific Committee consisted of experts of the PIARC Technical Committees 2.4 "Winter Service", 3.3 "Road Tunnels Operation", and 4.3 "Road Bridges". The committee has looked after the selection of communications and programming of various technical sessions with the support of the PIARC General Secretariat.

TC2.4 comprises 60 members in organizations managing road systems in 31 countries:
